Hello, and welcome!
I’m Julia (she/her) and I am a clinical psychologist who studies and works primarily with eating disorders. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University in the Adult Eating Disorders and Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis clinics. I treat a wide range of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, body dysmorphia, and more. My clinical training also includes depression, anxiety, addictive disorders, trauma, and neurodivergence (Autism and ADHD). I completed my PhD and clinical internship at the University of Michigan. My doctoral research focused on the etiological, behavioral, and functional similarities among eating disorders and addictive disorders, particularly the bidirectional relationship between dietary restraint and eating pathology during key periods of development. I currently specialize working with patients with eating and body image concerns including experiences of anxiety, perfectionism, and shame. In my free time, I am usually reading novels, playing chess, or going on long walks with my greyhound. I care deeply about creating an inclusive and welcoming practice for clients of all ages, sizes, ethnicities, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, gender identities, and more. I’m happy you are here!
